He had been cutting wood on the Ed. Goodwin place in North Plains a few days previous to his death and lived in a tent in the company with several other co- laborers. Mr. Benjamin was well known in this village, where his home had been for many years, his business being that of a barber. He was born in New York state November 20, 1858, coming to Michigan in 1862. He was married in 1882 and leaves a widow and one son, Bert Benjamin, who is engaged in the livery business in this village. The funeral was held Tuesday from the home of the son, being conducted by Rev. H. E. Wylie. The pall-bearers were Charles Blower, J.P. Brown, Norman Etson and Daniel Curtis.
