Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 5 Apr 1974

Mrs. Lula Benjamin, 90, of 743 Bridge, Lyons, died Thursday evening at Ionia 
Manor following an extended illness.

Born July 31, 1883, in Collins she was the daughter of Bert and Luinda Bugbee 
and attended the rural schools.

In October 1903 she was married to Bert Benjamin and he died February 1971.  
She had lived all her life in Ionia county, the past 14 years in Lyons.

She was the oldest living member of the Lyons Baptist church.

Surviving are three sons, Otto of Grand Rapids, Bill of Portland, and Bert, 
Jr., of Grand Ledge; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and five great 
great grandchildren.

Mrs. Benjamin will be at the Hull Memorial chapel in Muir until noon Monday 
when she will be taken to the Lyons Baptist church for services at 1:30 p.m.  
Rev. Richard Harrison will officiate and interment will be at Lyons cemetery.
