Ionia County News, 6 May 1926

Alfred B. Benjamin, 86, well known resident of Pewamo, who died recently, was a 
victim of a lingering illness of Bright’s disease and for many years had to be 
cared for and for 20 years his daughter, Mrs. Ella Thuma, sacrificed much to be 
near him and comfort him.  Being somewhat mentally ill, together with his 
ailment, he proved a great care, but it was his daughter who gave up worldly 
social life to be with him.  His funeral was held from the Pewamo Methodist 
church, with Rev. E.O. Mather, pastor of the Lyons Methodist church, in charge.  
Interment was made in East Plains.  He is also survived by two sons.
