Mrs. Agnes Benjamin, 86, formerly of route one, Saranac, died Friday evening at 
the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jewell Swanberg of Fort Myers, Fla.

She was born July 15, 1880, in Grand Rapids to Mr. and Mrs. S.J. DeGroot. She 
was married January 1, 1903, to Frank Benjamin, who died August 4, 1954. Mrs. 
Benjamin spent her married life in Saranac. For the past five years she has 
lived with her daughter in Florida.

She leaves three sons, Lester and Sherie of Saranac and Lyle of Ionia; two 
daughters, Mrs. Anna Baker of Holt and Mrs. Jewel Swanberg of Fort Myers, Fla.; 
22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; two brothers, John DeGroot of Winona, 
Minn., and Oliver DeGroot of Grand Rapids, and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Heyboer 
and Mrs. Harriet Twerst of Grand Rapids.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home with burial 
in Saranac cemetery. Rev. Elton Mills of Evart will officiate.
