All of his life was spent within a few miles of his birthplace. For 20 years he was a resident of the Village of Matherton. He was the oldest of a family of five children but was the last to depart this life. On Oct. 31, 1883, he was married to Sarah Patterson. Five children were born to them. There are 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also who survive. Mr. Benjamin was a farmer all of his life. For many years he was a member of the United Brethren church of Matherton. The funeral was held at the home, Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 21, with Floyd N. Drake of the Methodist church officiating. The burial was in the East Plains cemetery. Additional Comments: Funeral: Wednesday 21 September 1932 Hubbardston A. A. Benjamin A. A. Benjamin passed away at his home just east of Hubbardston Sunday evening, Sept. 18, about 6:30, after a short illness. For the past few years he has suffered from heart trouble and dropsy and was taken worse the later part of the week. He was born in Lebanon township, near the Benjamin church, on April 24, 1862, and has spent practically all his life in that township. He leaves, besides his wife, five children, Fred, Eva Robertson, Pearl Davis of Cadillac, Nellie Rose of Detroit and Mattie Kemp. There are several grandchildren and great- grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn. The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at two o'clock at the residence, Rev Drake officiated.
