Farnice was born in Southampton Shire, England, March 12, 1841 and passed away at her home in Saranac, April 20, 1919, aged 78 years, 1 month and 8 days. She came to America with her parents at the age of 10 and was married to Charles H. Benjamin April 4th, 1865. To this union was born nine children, three of whom have passed away before, 2 in infancy, and George Septer of Sears, who died April 18, 1919, and six who still live to mourn her loss. Mrs. Harvey Train of Lansing, John and Frank of Saranac, Fred A. of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Rose Whitby of Mecosta and Benjamin, of Remus, Also 17 grandchildren and (??) great grandchildren. She has gradually failed since the death of her husband in June 1918. The shock of her son's sudden death was too great. Funeral services were held from the residence at 2 o'clock on Tuesday, April 22, Rev. Bodine officiating.
