Thelma H. Bennett, 75, of Lyons died Jan. 18, 1997.  She was born in Gladwin 
March 15, 1921, the daughter of Manuel and Mattie (Carrigan) Harger.

She is survived by her son, Rick Bennett of Saranac, daughter, Judi (Dennis) 
King of Lansing; grandchildren, Renee and Keith Kenyon, Deena King (fiancé Rob 
Brannen) Judi Bennett, Luci Bennett, Shawna Bennett, Geri Ann and Fred Brady, 
Kim and Ed Taylor, Jim Bennett, and Dawn Bennett; six great-grandchildren; 
special friends, Donna Bennett and Byron and Bette Price; and cousins Roger and 
Shelley Preston.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Coral Bennett St., 
in 1987; one son, Coral Jr., in 1976; granddaughter, Michelle; brothers, Louis, 
Roger and Rollie Harger, who died a prisoner of war; and sister, Alta Frank.  

Services were held Jan. 22 at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, with Rev. Ken Harger 
officiating.  Contributions may be made to The Shiloh Community Church or Ionia 
County Humane Society.
