Bennett, 94, of 6430 Bluewater Highway, Muir, died Sunday at the Masonic Home in Alma. Born June 28, 1897, in lake Odessa, he was the son of Clifton and Anna Hale Bennett. He was a self-employed electrician. He married his wife Flora in June 1930, and they had lived in Muir since 1938. She died in 1963. He was a boy Scout leader for 14 years; was a life member of Lyons Masonic Lodge No. 37 and of Evergreen Chapter, No. 334, Order of the Eastern Star; and was the oldest living member of the First Christian Church of Muir at his death. Surviving are a son, Edward Bennett of Lansing; three daughters, Anna Shindorf and Ada J. Johnson, both of Muir, and Cora Marron of Grand Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from First Christian Church of Muir, with Brad Center officiating. Burial will be in Muir Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held at Hull Memorial Chapel Tuesday at 7 p.m. A memorial has been established for First Christian Church of Muir, in care of the funeral home.
