Ionia Sentinel Standard, 11 May 1993

Charles E. Bennett, 56, of Ionia, died Sunday at his home.  He was born, the son
of James A. and Margaret Hoerner Bennett,  August 10, 1936, in Carson City.  He
worked for 13 years at Grand Valley Chair Co., Ionia, and 26 years at Fisher
Body in Lansing.  He was a member of the Ionia Moose.

He is survived by his wife Jean; his son James of Ionia; his daughter Tammy
Lewis of Ionia; two grandchildren; his mother, three brothers, George, Walter,
and Robert of Ionia; and his sister Clarabelle Hatt of Ionia.  He was preceded
in death by one brother, James.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cook Funeral Home, Ionia, with the
Rev. Bill Dornbush officiating.  Burial will be in the Balcom Cemetery. 
Pallbearers will be Dave Holcomb, Jeff Connor, Bill Nielson, Rick Clark, David
Colwell, Leon Anderson, and Scott Shellenbarger.  The family will be at the Rich
Street Chapel from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.  Memorials have been established
for the Zion United Methodist church and the Helping Hands, Inc., in care of the
funeral home.
