William C. “Willie” Bennett, 41, of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Ionia, died
Saturday, Nov. 9, 1996 in Hudson Fla. of accidental injuries.  He was born Aug.
28, 1955 in Ionia, the son of Robert L. and Margaret T. (Lesky) Bennett.  He had
worked at the Ionia Manor and Herbruck’s in Saranac.  He currently was a
self-employed contractor.

Surviving are three sons, Douglas Bennett of Grand Rapids, Joseph Bennett of
Ionia, and Jason Bennett of Ionia; one daughter, Jamie Bennett of Ionia; one
granddaughter, Hailey; his parents, Robert and Margaret Bennett of Ionia; one
brother, Robert Bennett of Ionia; three sisters, Rochelle (Dan) Makley of Ionia,
Peggy (Ron) Daugherty of Houghton Lake, and Laurie Lake of Ionia; two
grandmothers, Fern Montgomery of Ionia and June Bennett of Greenville; and
several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home in
Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. 
Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Rich Street
Chapel of Cook Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m.
to 8:30 p.m.
