Karen Bennett, lovingly known to her friends and family as Care Bear, was born 
Jan. 31, 1946 and passed away on July 13, 2011.

Karen was born in Ionia and lived most of her life in Lyons/Muir. Her  passing 
was expected but far too soon. Karen went on heaven’s journey with her daughter 
Melissa and son-in-law Dale at her side. 

Care Bear (Karen) went to be with her parents, Ray and Lucile Bennett; brother, 
Sonny Bennett (Norman); son Joey; and granddaughter, Stephanie.

She will be forever missed by her daughter, Melissa (Dale) Baldwin; 
grandchildren, Joshua Grill, Cal Baldwin, Skye Baldwin of Ionia; brothers and 
sisters, Charles (Arlene) Bennett of Lyons, Barb (Richard) Kline of Dimondale, 
James (Bonnie) Bennett of Lyons, Fran Shattuck (Lon Heilman) of Ionia, and 
Vicki (Harry) Brock of Saranac; and 13 nieces and nephews.

She was known to most of her grandnieces and nephews as Care Bear.

A mother’s love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the 
impossible.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Lyons 
Cemetery in Lyons. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home of Muir. Anyone wishing
