Mary Jane Bennett, age 61, of Ionia, passed away Feb. 10, 2008 in Ionia.  She 
was born Oct. 20, 1946 in Carson City the daughter of Otis and Dorothy 
(Nielsen) Bennett.  She worked for the State of Michigan as a social worker 
for 35 years before retiring in 2002.  She volunteered for Gleaners and 
donated her time at Commodities at Moose.  She loved her time with her family.

Mary is survived by her mother, Dorothy Bennett of Ionia; daughters, Karen and 
Brian (Wood) Neeley of Ionia, Wendy Gilllman and Frank White of Ionia and 
Bettie and Robert White of Ionia; sister Susan and Gerald Den Houten of Ionia; 
grandchildren, Ryan and Arron Gillman, Robert and Brittney White and Caleb 
Neeley; nieces and nephews, Tammy and Mike Husted, Todd and Jennifer Den 
Houten and Jamie Den Houten and many great-nieces and nephews.  She was 
preceded in death by her father, one brother Albert Bennett and her 
grandparents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia 
with Rev. Kendall Harger officiating.  Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.  The 
family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. 
and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of 
flowers contributions may be made to the family.
