Clarksville - Maxell G. Bennett, 78, of Clarksville passed away Tuesday October
11, 1994 at his residence.  He was born January 30, 1916 in Eaton County the son
of Arthur and Flossie (Travis) Bennett.  Mr. Bennett attended Woodland Schools
and married Carlotta Kelly in 1933 in Hastings.  She preceded him in death in
1976.  He married Juanita Myers in January 1977 and she preceded him in death on
April 24, 1992.

He was employed at Bradford White Corporation for 30 years retiring in 1977. 
Mr. Bennett attended Kilpatrick United Brethren Church.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Vernon and one sister;
Gladys; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Surviving are three sons, Val Bennett of Belding, Jerry Bennett of Lake Odessa,
Max Bennett of Midland; four daughters, Linda Ritter of Hastings, Joan Schrenk
of Athens, Alabama, Nancy McBrian of Hastings, Nina Liken of Evansville,
Indiana; three stepdaughters, Mary Jo Swartout of Jackson, Carlene Konopka of
Jackson, Peggy Collins of Ohio; three brothers Arthur Bennett of Hastings,
Eugene Bennett of Hopkins, Roger Bennett of Dowling; one sister, Rosalie Edger
of Hastings; 26 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday October 14, 1994 at the Koops Funeral Chapel,
Lake Odessa.  The Reverend George Speas officiated and burial followed at
Clarksville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands
Hospice of Ionia.
