Ionia Shopper's Guide - Dec. 15, 2012

Zella (Eileen) Bennett, age 92, of Muir passed away December 8, 2012 in Carson 
City. She was born April 13, 1920 in Hubbardston, Michigan the daughter of 
William and Teresa (Chase) Martin. Zella married Henry Bennett February 5, 
1937. He preceded her in death in 1994. She worked for Chrysler at the Lyons 
Trim Plant. She worked local elections, collected White Fenton, loved the 
Detroit Tigers, and was a charter member of Golden Years Club in Muir.

Zella is survived by her sons Ronald (Penny) Bennett of Muir, Gary (Edith) 
Bennett of Muir and Marilyn Kirby of Ionia; nine grandchildren; thirteen great 
grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and three 
sisters. Funeral services were held December 13 at Lake Funeral Home in Muir 
with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment East Plains Cemetery. Memorial 
contributions may be made in Zella's name to Ionia Commission on Aging. Online
