Trudie “Penny” Bennett, 74, of Muir passed away June 25, 2014 at her home.  
Penny was born August 24, 1939 in Palo the daughter of Lewis and Viola 
(Nielsen) Little.  She was a graduate of Ionia High school Class of 1957.  

Penny married Ronald Bennett July 12, 1958 in Palo.  She loved frogs, baking, 
cooking, country music and decorating for every Holiday.  Penny loved her 
family and friends very dearly. 

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Ronald Bennett of Muir. Children 
Mark (Julia) Bennett of Ionia, Timothy (Debra) Bennett of Greenville and Chris 
(Carol) Bennett of Saranac; sisters Linda Edwards of Fenwick, Suzanne Wright 
and John Dunsmore of Okemos and Karen (Phillip) McKinley of Harbor Springs; 
grandchildren Sarah (Taleb) Farhat of Greenville, Jenna Bennett of Ionia, 
Braden Bennett of Ionia, Nathan Lindy of Oklahoma, Chauntel Bennett of 
Tennessee, Cory Bennett of Saranac, Cody Bennett of Saranac, Brenton (Amanda) 
Wells of California, Bradley Wells of Lowell and Nicole (Josh) Emery of Ionia; 
great Grandchildren Olivia, Malyk, Isabella, Aubrie, Joshua, Jordan and 
Austin.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment 
Oakwood Cemetery in Muir.  Visitation will be on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the 
Funeral Home.  Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Lyons-Muir 
Lions Club.
