She was born in Montcalm County on March 23, 1906, the daughter of William and Polly Farrier Gallagher. She attended Greenville High School and worked at the Elks’ Country Club in Grand Rapids. During World War II, she worked at the Willow Run Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti. She was married in Ionia December 4, 1926, to Ralph Bennett. They have made their home most of their married life in the Ionia area, for the past 40 years at the present residence. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Luther Society. Surviving are her husband Ralph, and a daughter, Patricia, at home. Six brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Hauser of Holy Cross Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established for St. John’s Lutheran Church, in the care of the funeral home.
