Funeral services for Mrs. Fred S. Bennett of Lyons were held Tuesday 
afternoon from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir with the Rev. Myron E. 
Hoyt, pastor of the Lyons Methodist church officiating.

Mrs. Bennett died at her home Monday morning, July 4, after a lingering, ten 
years of which she was unable to walk but kept an alert and cheery outlook 
on life. Mr. and Ms. Bennett celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 
1943.

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen W. Kimball had charge of the flowers. The bearers were 
six grandsons of Mrs. Bennett, Roy Bennett, Earl VanDyne of Lyons, Jack 
Bennett of Muir, Robert Bennett of Eaton Rapids, Herbert (Budd) Anderson of 
Lansing and Charles Bennett of the U. S. Navy stationed at Norfolk, Va. 

Those from away who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bennett, 
Mrs. Maude Smith, Mrs. Bert Bennett, all of Elsie, Mrs. Ray Thomas, Mrs. 
Esther Beach, Glenn Dickinson, Bert Dickinson of Palo, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur 
Babcock of Lewiston, Mrs. Helen Bell, Mrs. Ruth Skelcy of Saginaw, Mr. and 
Mrs. Victor Connanile, Pat and Budd Anderson, Mrs. Gordon Bennett, Mrs. Etta 
McKenzie, Mrs. Ruth Majeski, Mrs. Gladys Hammond, Mrs. Lavisa Flower, all of 
Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clements, Ionia Route 3, Mrs. John Linebaugh, 
Portland, Mrs. John Jenks, Ionia, Fred Clements, Jr. of Belding.
