S. Bennett, died at the home of her parents in this village on Tuesday night last of consumption, aged 26 years. Miss Bennett had been ill for some months and once or twice showed signs of returning strength and vitality; but the germs of the dread disease were too firmly fixed to be dislodged by medical skill, and a consultation of physicians about a month ago decided it was a fight against hope, since which time her fond and devoted parents had watched her gradually waste away until death relieved her sufferings. She was conscious until the last moment of her life. The funeral services were conducted from the Universalist church on Friday afternoon last by the Rev. W. S. Goodell, many friends paying a last tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased.
