   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, May 2, 1980:  "GEORGE I. BENNETT - IONIA - George I.
Bennett, 88, of Harwood Road, rural Ionia, died Friday night at the home of his
son.
   He was born on the family farm where he resided and farmed his entire lifetime.
   He was born July 23, 1891, the son of William and Orville Whitmore Bennett.
   He is survived by one son, Carl, of rural Ionia; three grandchildren; eight
great grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold and Miles, both of rural Ionia.
   Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the Leddick Funeral Home with the Rev.
Willis Braun of the Berlin Center Church officiating.  Burial will be at Balcom
Cemetery.
   A memorial fund may be established for the cancer society.  Contributions may
be left at the Leddick Funeral Home."
   Pallbearers were Carl, Jr., Thomas, Robert, Mark, Steve and Richard Bennett,
with honorary bearers Ford Rowley, Harry Emelander, Gail Galloway and Don Seiler.
