He was born in Berlin township November 6, 1902 and was a son of William and Orvilla Bennett. Married to the former Harriett Simmons November 20, 1928, they resided at their present farm home since 1933. Surviving are his wife, Harriett, one daughter, Margaret Jean at home; two sons, William at home and Richard of Belding, two grandchildren; three brothers, George, Harold and Miles, all of Berlin township. One daughter, Mary Jane died in 1941 at the age of seven. Funeral services will be conducted at the Boyton funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. J. Lawrence Ward officiating. Interment will be in the family lot, Balcom cemetery." Thursday, November 29, 1956: "Deaths - SEIGEL BENNETT - Funeral services for Seigel Bennett, who died early Monday morning were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Boynton funeral home with the Rev. J. Lawrence Ward, pastor of the LeValley Methodist church officiating. Interment was in the family lot in Balcom cemetery. Bearers were Ray Youngs, Harold Simmons, Carl Bennett, Harold Bennett, George Bennett and Miles Bennett. Out of town relatives attending were Carl Bennett of Wasau, Wis.; Mrs. Ida Tew of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Phyllis Brown of Muir and Leslie Morrison of McBain."
