   SENTINEL-STANDARD, Ionia, MI, February 1, 1996, p 2:  "Obituaries - Dorothy
June Bennett - IONIA - Dorothy June Bennett, 80, of Ionia died Tuesday, Jan. 30,
1996 at her residence.
   She was born June 1, 1915 in Berlin Twp., the daughter of John and Edith
(Chamberlain) Cochrun.  She graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1935 and
married Harold J. Bennett June 5, 1939 in Angola, Ind.  She worked at the
Sentinel-Standard and Woolworth Store, both in Ionia.  She was with the American
Cancer Society for 30 years and was a member of Berlin Center Grange, Berlin
Center United Methodist Church, and Rural Mothers Study Club.
   She is survived by son Robert (Melanie) Bennett, of Ionia, brother Roger
(Doris) Cochrun, of Saranac; sister Ruth (Max) Mason, of Ionia; two
grandchildren; Matt and Lynne Bennett, of Ionia; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband on March 5, 1993 and one son in 1952.
   Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Berlin Center United Methodist
Church, with Rev. David Flagel officiating.  Interment will be in Balcom
Cemetery, and visitation will be Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m.
to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Area Hospice.  Envelopes are
available at the funeral home."
   Pallbearers were Mark Mason, Ronald Cochrun, Richard Bennett, Michael Mason,
William Bennett and Rick Thomas.

   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, 2-26-1996:  "Cards of Thanks - In Loving Memory of
Dorothy Bennett - We would like to thank our families, friends and neighbors for
their prayers, visits, flowers, cards, food and loving support during her
illness.  Special thanks to Rev. Dave Flagel, the staff of the Ionia Area
Hospice, Lake Funeral Home and the Berlin Center United Methodist Church family
for providing the funeral luncheon.  We thank all of you for your kindness and
sympathy at a time when they were deeply appreciated.  Robert, Melanie, Matt,
Lynne Bennett, Roger & Doris Cochrun, Max & Ruth Mason."

   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, 2-3-1997:  "BENNETT - In Loving Memory of Dorothy
Bennett who passed away January 30, 1996.
   The rolling streams of life flow on, but the vacant chair recalls the love,
the voice, the smile of the one who once sat therre.  And what would we give if
we could say "Hi Dorothy" in the same old way.  To hear her voice and see her
smile, to sit and chat with her awhile.  Her memory is as dear today as in the
hour she passed away.  And today and everyday in silence we remember her.  Sadly
missed by Her Family and Friends."
