   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, MI, December 6, 1995:  "Marjorie J. Bennett - IONIA
- Marjorie J. Bennett, 85, of Ionia died Dec. 5, 1995 at her home.
   She was born Jan. 10, 1910 in Saranac, the daughter of Alpha and Alice
(Torpy) Rogers.  She graduated from Ionia High School and married Miles Bennett
on July 8, 1942 in Stanton.  She and her husband were the sextons of Balcom
Cemetery for many years and attended the First Christian Church in Ionia.  She
was also a long-time farmer.
   Surviving are one sister-in-law, Dorothy Bennett, of Ionia; nieces and
nephews:  Jean Bennett, Richard (Nancy) Bennett, William (LaVonne) Bennett,
Charlotte Cooper and Robert  (Melanie) Bennett, all of Ionia, Floyd Rogers, of
Sheridan and Joyce Rogers, of Calif.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles on Sept. 18, 1987, brother
Bill Rogers and sister Donna Rogers.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday from the Cook Funeral
Home of Ionia, with Rev. Martha Chenaullt of the First Christian Church
officiating.
   Interment will be in Balcom Cemetery, and visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4
p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Rich St. Chapel of the Cook
Funeral Home in Ionia.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Area Hospice or the American
Cancer Society, Ionia Chapter."
   Pallbearers were Mike Mason, David, Chris, Matt, Rance and Tom Bennett.
