Saranac Advertiser 5/30/1917
   Per SARANAC ADVERTISER, 5-30-1917:  "Local News - Ira Bennett, 87 years old,
died at 10:00 Thursday night in his home in Berlin Twp.  He was one of the
earliest and best known residents of the county.  He leaves no children; his
second wife who was Miss Flora Humphrey, of Ionia, before her marriage, died
about 5 years ago."

   IONIA DAILY STANDARD, MI, 5-25-1917, p 3:  "BRIEF MENTION - Ira Bennett, 87
years old, died at 10:00 Thursday night in his home in Berlin township.  He was
one of the earliest and best-known residents of the county.  He leaves no
children; his 2nd wife who was Miss Flora Humphrey of this city before her
marriage, died about 5 years ago.  The funeral will be Sunday afternoon at 1:30
at the home and 2:00 at the Wesleyan church with burial in Balcom cemetery."

   IONIA DAILY STANDARD, MI, 5-28-1917, p 3:  "There was a large attendance at
the funeral for Ira Bennett at the Wersleyan church in Berlin township.  The
bearers were nephews of Mr. Bennett."
