Mr. Bennett was born in New York State and came to Michigan while yet a young man, teaching in the district schools of this county. He taught 50 years ago in the Coon School. He lived all of his life since then in the farming districts of the vicinity of Ionia. Besides his widow, he leaves 2 daughters, Miss Alvina of Chicago and Mrs. Faulkner, of Ionia, and 2 sons, Atwood of Buffalo and Albert who lives at home." IONIA DAILY STANDARD, 1-3-1919: "Theodore Bennett, age 75, died at 6:00 this morning at his home in Ionia Township. He had just started to build a fire and suffered a stroke of apoplexy and died instantly. He was born in New York and came to Ionia County when real young. Fifty years ago, he was a school teacher in South Ionia. He has 4 children: Attwood, of Buffalo, Alvina of Chicago, Mrs. Anna Faulkner of Ionia, and Albert of Ionia." 1-4-1919: LOCAL NEWS BRIEF - The funeral of Theodore Bennett will be Monday afternoon at 2:00 at the home."
