   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, 9-19-1995:  "Herbert L. Bennett - MADISON, Ala. -
Herbert L. Bennett, 70, of Madison, Ala., formerly of Lake Odessa, died Friday,
Sept. 1, 1995 in Huntsville, Alabama.
   He was born April 15, 1995 (1925?) in Ionia, the son of Albert and Goldie
Bennett.  He attended Ionia Schools and graduated from Lyons High School in 1965
(1945?).  He married Elizabeth J. Simms on Jan. 31, 1953, in Flint, Mich.   He
was employed at the Central Bank of the South as a Credit Counselor in the
collection department, retiring in 1992.  He was also a veteran of World War II.
   Surviving are his wife Elizabeth; sons:  Max L. Bennett, of New Mexico and
Robert L. Bennett of Lansing; daughters:  Esther Dreves, of Williamston and
Barbara E. Bennett, of Madison, Ala.; four grandchildren; sister Patricia Oaks,
of Orleans; and brother Theodore Bennett, of Muskegon.
   He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Bennett.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday Sept. 13, 1995 at l0 a.m. at the Koops
Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.  Burial was in Balcom Cemetery, in Ionia."
