Fred Bennett, 80, of Lyons, died at 1:30 Wednesday morning, Aug. 16, at the 
home of his daughter Mrs. Rex Van Dyne of Lyons.  He had been ill a long time.

Mr. Bennett was born June 14, 1870 in Bushnell Township, Montcalm County, the 
son of Mr. And Mrs. Frank Bennett.  On February 14, 1893 he was married to 
Miss Lillie Wernett at Matherton.  They came to Lyons 46 years ago from 
Bushnell Township.

Mr. Bennett is survived by four sons, George, Jay and Ray of Lyons and 
Clarence of Muir; two daughters, Mrs. Glen Anderson of Lansing, and Mrs. Van 
Dyne, 24 grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  Mrs. Bennett died 
about a year ago.  He also leaves one brother, Bert Bennett of Elsie.

Rev. Myron Hoyt of Lyons will officiate at the funeral service from Shaw-
Rivett Funeral Home in Muir, at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.  Burial will be in 
Sunny Hill Cemetery, Bushnell Township.
