IONIA-  Frank Bennett, 73, of 410 Center St., died early Nov. 9 at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 5, 1907, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Michael and Susan Cigan 
Borovsky.

he graduated from Omer High school in Omer, Mich., and attended County Normal at 
Ypsilanti Teachers' College. He also attended Purdue University and received a 
master's degree from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Bennett taught in AuGres and Sebewaing, and worked at the Ypsilanti State 
Hospital.  He started work in 1941 at the Michigan Reformatory, where he taught 
until retirement in 1972.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ionia; the Ionia Masonic 
Lodge F & AM No. 36, of which he was a past master; Ionia Commandery No. 11 
Knights Templar, of which he was a past commander; Ionia Chapter No. 14 Royal 
Arch Masons, of which he was a past high priest; Saladin Shrine of Grand Rapids; 
Portland Eastern Star; Grand Valley Rock and Mineral Association; Retired State 
Employees Association; and Michigan Education Association.

Surviving are his wife, Flora, of Lake Odessa; one son, Robert of Laingsburg; 
one grandson; one brother, Michael Borovsky of Canton, Mich.; and three sisters, 
Mrs. Anthony (Elizabeth) Belich of Munger, Mich., Mrs. May DeShaneo of 
Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Margaret Gray of Raleigh, N.C. 

Services will be held today at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with 
the Rev. Carl Haussermann officiating.

Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Omer Cemetery.

Masonic memorial services were held yesterday in the Leddick Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established for the Ionia Masonic Lodge, First United 
Methodist Church and Michigan Heart Association.
