The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 27, 1939
Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Myers Bennett, 85, of Ionia, will be held 
Tuesday afternoon, March 28, at 2 o’clock from the Myers funeral home, 148 
East Main Street.  The Rev. A. J. Westmaas, pastor of the Ionia Presbyterian 
church will officiate.  Burial will be in Balcom cemetery.  The body will lie 
in state at the home, 414 Division street until Tuesday afternoon.  

Mrs. Bennett died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Faulkner in Ionia 
Saturday afternoon, March 24, at 5 o’clock following a serious illness of 
three weeks.  She had been in poor health since last June.  She was born in 
Tonawanda, New York February 1, 1854 and was the last of seven children born 
to the late Christopher and Amelia Myers.  Her husband, Theodore Bennett, 
preceded her in death 20 years ago last January.  She had made her home with 
her daughter for 17 years and previously lived in Berlin township, west of the 
Little White church.

Surviving beside Mrs. Faulkner are another daughter, Miss Alvina M. Bennett of 
Ionia; and two sons, Atwood D. Bennett of Alden, New York, and Albert L. 
Bennett of Ionia.
