The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, January 17, 1939
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, January 15, from the home of 
Mrs. Hannah Dickinson, near Fenwick for her daughter, Mrs. Velma L. Bennett, 
wife of Paul Bennett of Lyons.  Interment was made in the Bushnell cemetery.  
The Rev. J. B. Wilson was in charge of the service.  Mrs. George Steadman and 
Mrs. Ford Weaver furnished the music.  Pallbearers were Elmer Hopkins, James 
Hopkins, Fay Nash, Lawrence Davis, Clare Galloway, and Ford Weaver.

Mrs. Bennett died Thursday noon, January 12, at her home from the effects of 
severe burns suffered when she attempted to light a fire with kerosene in her  
home Wednesday morning.  Mrs. Bennett was born March 28, 1910 in Bushnell 
township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dickinson.  Surviving beside the 
mother and husband, are a small son, three sisters, two brothers, and several 
nephews and nieces.

Among those attending the services from the Lyons vicinity were Mr. and Mrs. 
Wesley Sprague, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wood, Mr. and 
Mrs. Sam Riker, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Nash, Mr. and Mrs. Ford Weaver, Mr. and Mrs. 
Lawrence Davis, Mr. and Mrs. James Hopkins, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hopkins, Mr. 
and Mrs. John Currigan, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ginebaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Horace 
Clements, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clements, Mr. and Mrs. George Bennett, Mr. and 
Mrs. Roy Bennett, and Mr. and Mrs. Van Dine, Dr. and Mrs. A. C. German, Mrs. 
George Steadman, Mrs. V. F. Upton, Mrs. Woodruff, Mrs. S. N. Gamber, John 
Kalb, Jay Bennett and Mrs. R. C. Bogart.
