    Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

       LAVONNE IONE BENNETT

Died Wednesday September 3, 2025-age 85 of Ionia after years of suffering the 
effects of Alzheimer's disease.
Survived by her son W.Rance (Linda) Bennett, daughter, Laura (Glenn) Bennett-
Kimble, grandchildren Kristina (Tyler) Groendyke, Joshua Clark, Noel (Jason) 
Evans; five great-grandchildren; & brother Thomas Daniel (Roberta) Lake.
LaVonne was the daughter of Hersel & Maxine Lake.
Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years,William (Bille) in 2018, one 
stillborn child & her brothers, Louis Lake in 2014 & Ivan Herbert Lake in 2023.
LaVonne was known for her cleverness, generosity of spirit & mischievous twinkle 
in her eye.
She was a genealogist, helping people from around the U.S. find their ancestry 
in Ionia County & nearby areas.
She also worked at Thompson Products in Portland, volunteering with local 
organizations & donating 100s of handmade baby sweaters & blankets to pregnancy 
care centers.She will be missed by her family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements in care of Lake Fuenral Home in Ionia.
Donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
