Deannie was born in Columbiana, AL. on September 10, 1950, a daughter of the late Gertie & Earsey Price. She was raised and attended Wilsonville School. Deannie moved to Texas as a young lady to live with her grandmother. While there she was married to Ronald Summerville and the couple had a son Wayne. She was later married to David Parker & together they had three children, Vincent, Tina and Chris. On September 4, 2003, Deannie married her lifelong friend Richard Bennett. Deannie and Richard made their home together in the Hastings and Dowling area for many years. After Charles retired the couple established their residence in the Baldwin area where they enjoyed spending time enjoying the serenity of nature. Deannie enjoyed the quietness of the woods, however, she missed her family and the couple returned to the Hastings area, but often visited Northern Michigan to "get away" Deannie loved to spend her free time fishing, and during one of the trips the couple found the perfect home on Martiny Lakes in Mecosta, MI. They once again established their home "up North" and began a wonderful relationship with other people on the lake. Together with her hsband, the couple enjoyed afternoons on the pontoon fishing and socialzing with their friends who gave her the nickname "DeeDee". After wonderful years, Deanne and CHarles once again returned to Barry County settling in the Woodland area. Deannie began her working career as a nurse's aide at Pennock Hospital. After being injured, she finished her education at Kellogg Community College and began working as an administrative secretary at Steelcase. Deannie worked faithfully for over 10 years before retiring in 1994. In her spare time, Deannie enjoyed making handmade crafts including ceramics, quilts and clothing for her family. During their retirement Richard & Deannie enjoyed traveling all over the United States in their motorhome, visiting several attractions including the Redwood Forest in California. Deannie is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Wayne Parker, Vincent Parker, Tina (Jeff) Howell, Chris Parker; sister, Violet Hines; brothers, Robert Burdette, Terry Burdette; stepchildren, Pam(Daniel) Rathbun, Wendy Hayes, Jennifer (Chad) Loveless, Amanda (Eugene)Miller, Richard Bennett, Brian (Angela) Bennett, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Dan Burdette, Judy Moore, and young brother, Jimmy Burdette. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 12,2026 at noon at The Daniels Funeral Home -Hastings, located at 1401 North Broadway, Hastings, MI. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 11am until noon at Daniels funeral Home-Hastings. Guests are invited to remain at the funeral home for a time of fellowship and luncheon immediately following the funeral service. Interment will take place following the funeral luncheon at Striker Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Daniels Funeral Home in Hasting's, MI.
