Mr. Bensinger answered the eternal roll call Monday night, death coming at his home at 643 E. Washington street after an illness of several months. Although born in Pennsylvania, 83 years ago, it was with the 48th Ohio Infantry that Mr. Bensinger served during the war of the rebellion after he answered an early call for volunteers. Surviving him are three sons, William B., of Ionia, Edward of Lansing, and James of St. Johns, and a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Westover, of Hilton, Tex. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the home, with Rev. Herbert G. Hurrell, pastor of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Highland Park cemetery.
