LILLIAN BENSON DIES AFTER BRIEF ILNESS Mrs. Lillian Lorton Benson,44, passed away early Sunday morning at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where she had been hospitalized for five days. A native of Sidney, Ohio, she graduated from the high school there in 1940 and was a veteran of World War II stationed at Great Lakes, Ill., serving with the Waves of the U.S. Navy. She married Loyal (Roy) Benson June 19, 1946 and they lived at Sidney, Ohio after their marriage, then moved to Grand Rapids where they lived for five years before coming to Lake Odessa where they have resided for the last ten years. For the last six years Mrs. Benson has been employed as a nurses aid at Pennock Hospital. She was a member of the Central Methodist Church and the LaVerne Demaray unit of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Marian, Kathleen and Pamela; three sons Kenneth, Bruce and David, all at home; three sisters and four brothers. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1"30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. Luther Brokaw officiated.
