Belding Banner-News, 13 Dec 1928

The remains of Mrs. Martha Benton, aged 86 years, who passed away at Grand
Rapids, on Sunday, were brought to this city and burial was made by the side of
her husband in the old cemetery, Tuesday afternoon.  Mrs. Benton was born in
Jackson county, September 14, 1842 and came to this community settling with her
parents, in the Brink neighborhood.  In 1859 she was married to George Benton,
who preceded her in death ten years ago.  Surviving are three sons, Arthur C.
Benton, of Detroit; Bert, of Kalamazoo; Allen of Sand Lake, and a daughter, Mrs.
May Kneeland, of Lake Worth, Florida.
