Fred E. Benton, 87, died Sunday morning at Belding City Hospital after a short 
illness.  Mr. Benton was born June 2, 1870 on Ingalls Rd., Belding, where he 
had lived all of his lifetime.  His parents were Daniel and Ellen Benton.  His 
wife, Minnie, died two weeks ago, July 2.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Freeman (Eva) Kilborn of rural Belding, 
Mrs. Henry (Christina) Raeth, Sparta, and Mrs. Floyd (Lula) Grimm of Los 
Angeles.  He also leaves 2 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fitzjohn Funeral Home with Rev. 
H.S. Ellis officiating.  Interment was in the Belding Mausoleum at River Ridge 
Cemetery.
