Thomas H. Benton Passed Away
Thomas H. Benton,82, former local resident, passed away at the Michigan 
Veterans's Facility at Grand Rapids about 8:30 Sunday evening. He had fallen and  
fractured his hip, which was attributed to his death, according to reports.

A native of Kentucky, he left there about 39 years ago and had been a local 
resident a number of years, leaving to reside at the Facility, 25 months ago.

Mr. Benton was a Spanish American War Veteran; a member of the World War I 
Veterans of Kent County and a member of the LaVerne Demaray Post, American 
Legion.

Surviving are three daughters Mrs.L.C. Dillingham and Mrs.Mary Gardinier of 
Louisville, Ky, and Mrs. Ethel Poynter of Tampa, Floria and a son John of 
Louisville, Kentucky. His wife Agnes passed away about two years ago.
