EDITH BERNDT
LAKE ODESSA-Edith Berndt, 94, of Lake Odessa died Friday, Oct. 26, at the 
Tendercare Nursing Home in Hastings.

She was born Oct. 25, 1896 in Lake Odessa, the daughter of Aaron and Anna 
Holling Beckhold. She attended Carr School and Lake Odessa High School.

She married Fred Berndt in 1916 in Lake Odessa. They celebrated their 60th 
anniversary in 1975. He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1976.

She lived in the Lake Odessa area all her life and was a member of the Rebekah 
Lodge and the Blue Star Mothers.

Surviving are one son, Lee (Bud) Berndt of Sunfield; one daughter Audra Jordan 
of Woodland; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Frank 
Beckhold of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 29 at 11 AM at the Koops Funeral Chapel 
inLake Odessa with the Rev. George Speas officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside 
Cemetery, Lake Odessa.

A memorial has been established for Lake Odessa VFW Scholarship fund, in care of 
the funeral home.
