The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, December 7, 1950
Belding—Henry Berndt, 75, died early Thursday at his farm home Thursday 
morning.  He was born in Germany February 19, 1876, and came to this country 
with his parents when he was a young child.  His wife died seven years ago.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Neva Crankshaw who has lived with her father for 
the past 40 years; two sons, Merl and Leon Burns of Ionia; six grandchildren; 
one half-sister, Mrs. Anna Riggle of Potter’s Corners and one brother, Hiram 
of Lake Odessa; and one half-brother, Bus Berndt of Boyne City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Fitzjohn Funeral 
home.  Interment will be in Greene cemetery, Orleans.
