Mrs. Bernier was born in Saranac, September 19, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hewitt. She was a member of the Degree of Honor club, a fraternal organization. For the past six years she was the county representative of an eastern corset company. Mrs. Bernier is survived by her husband Frank Bernier, four sons, Beverly and Auten of Los Angeles, California; Bayne and Thane at home; a daughter, Audrie Jean also at home, and three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Roush of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Mae Swain of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Hermione Poore, of Los Angeles, California. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Easton township home on M-21 just west of the city limits. Rev. George Woolcock, pastor of the Ionia Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be at the Highland Park cemetery.
