Pleasant street, Friday at about noon. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Dr. Berry had been in poor health for some time and was at the city hospital for treatment a short time before he returned to his home two weeks ago. He was a graduate of the local schools and later graduated from the University of Michigan. He practiced medicine at Newberry, this state, for some time and was regarded as an exceptional doctor, with a future as a surgeon of outstanding ability and skill, when his health broke and he was compelled to give up his practice. About 25 years ago he returned to this city to make his home. He had had a room in the Hubble block for the past three years. Friday morning other residents of the building noticed that Dr. Berry had not been around and about noon Burr Marr, Frank Welch, Hugh Sinkey and Howard Williams decided that they would enter the doctor’s room. Frank Welch entered the room and discovered the doctor dead in his bed. Death apparently came quietly as there was no evidence of a struggle. The body was taken to the Fales-Huffman funeral home where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. H.S. Ellis officiating and burial was in Otisco cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Johnson, Ray Ford, Frank Antcliff and Bert Gregg. Only near surviving relative is Edwin Thompson, Greenville automobile dealer, who is a nephew.
