Ionia Sentinel Standard – 28 August 1972
Mrs. Helen E. Bertotti, 57, of Lake Odessa died Monday morning at Pennock 
hospital in Hastings.  Born in Lowell, August 5, 1915, she was the daughter of 
Vernon and Olive Strait French.  August 1937 she was married to Ernest 
Bertotti in Lansing and he died June 13, 1968.  They had lived in Lansing 
until coming to Lake Odessa in 1939.

She was employed as cashier in the dining room at Lakewood junior high school 
at the noon lunch hour.  She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic church and 
its Altar society also the LaVerne Demoray unit of American Legion auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Michael J of Grand Rapids, and daughter, Mrs. Robert 
Campbell of Comstock Park; brother Clifford French of Lansing; two sisters, 
Mrs. Myrton Raze of Holt and Mrs. Louis Kopulas of Lansing.  Mrs. Bertotti 
will be at Pickens Funeral Chapel at Lake Odessa until Wednesday morning when 
she will be taken to St. Edwards Catholic church for funeral services at 10 
am.  Fr. Robert Maternoski will officiate and interment will be at Lakeside 
cemetery.  Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Pickens funeral chapel 
in Lake Odessa.
