Janis (Jan) Berzins, age 94, of Jelgava, Latvia, passed away Sept. 15, 2008.  

He was born June 1, 1914 in Prickuli, Latvia.  He was married to Milda Jertners,
who preceded him in death in May, 1980.  He was a long time resident in the
Ionia area where he owned and operated a farm on Peterson Road, as well as
worked at Mitchell-Bentley/A.O. Smith and at Brown Corporation – from where he
retired in 1978.  He and his second wife, Marta, returned to their native Latvia
in 2000.

As well as being survived by Marta, he is survived by his sons George, Walter
and John and their families, both here in the United States and Latvia. 

Interment was in Balozn Cemetery in Jelgava on Sept. 19, 2008.
