She was born on March 21, 1940 in Lansing the daughter of Martin and Bessie (Pospicil) Bohil. Mrs. Bettinghouse was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and worked at Bosley’s Drug Store for many years. She worked for many years with stained glass and loved the holidays and time spent with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Bettinghouse; and sister, Mary Ann Spitzley. Surviving are her son, Kevin (Kari) Bettinghouse of Ionia; daughter, Laura (Gary) Harper of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Nick Martin, Kurt Martin, Amber Bettinghouse, Alex Bettinghouse, Stacey Bettinghouse, Kelsey Harper, and Allison Harper; one great grandchild, Spencer Bettinghouse; sisters, Joann Mutschler of Saranac and Karen Thorpe of Florida; three aunts and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Boufford presiding. Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Ionia from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
