August 28, 2021 BETTINGHOUSE Sandy Stowell Bettinghouse age 81, of Ionia, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at home surrounded by her family under the care of Ionia Area Hospice. She was born to Ransom and Doris Stowell September 15, 1939, in Ionia, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father Ransom Stowell, mother Doris Stowell, brother Brian Scott Stowell, brother-in-law Ned Keller and her stepson Ken Bettinghouse. Sandy married Joe Bettinghouse in Bradenton, Florida on December 18, 2000. The two of them traveled extensively throughout the United States hauling travel trailers. Growing up Sand enjoyed the casinos, her loving family and was instantly loved by anyone that knew her because she never met a stranger. Sandy is survived by her husband Joe Bettinghouse; son Jeffrey Anway of Ionia, stepchildren Kevin (Kari) Bettinghouse of Ionia and Laura (Gary) Harper of Texas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings include Sue (Bill)Bussell Carol Keller, Rance (Jackie) Stowell and Denny (Cindy) Stowell, sister-in-law Sharon Fell; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. Sandy was blessed with a large loving family. Sandy lived a long adventurous life and to quote the song lyrics from Dancing in the Sky "I hope the angels know what they have. Graveside services will be 11 AM Saturday August 28, 2021 at the Orleans Cemetery. A Celebration of life Luncheon will be held immediately after at the Ionia Church of the Nazarene, 83 East Tuttle Road, Ionia. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Sandy's name be made to the Ionia area Hospice.
