The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, September 11, 1939


Mrs. Gladys Betts, 43, (nee Clark) wife of Burr Betts, died at the St. Lawrence 
hospital at Lansing Monday morning.  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. 
Wednesday at the Bradley funeral home with Rev. Paul L. Stewart officiating.  
Interment will be in Highland Park.

The Betts family formerly lived in Ionia. They have resided in Lansing for the 
past 10 years.

Survivors beside the husband are a daughter Mrs. Margaret Beachnau, one 
grandchild, her mother, Mrs. Sarah Wigand, of Lansing, two brothers, Thornton 
L, of Lansing and Claude of Ionia.

Subsequent Publication:  Thursday, September 14, 1939

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Betts, who died at the St. Lawrence hospital 
in Lansing Monday, were held from the Bradley funeral home Wednesday at 1 p.m. 
with Rev. Paul L. Stewart officiating.  Bearers were John Shattuck, Orrie 
Shattuck, Charles Rushford and Christopher Ries.  Interment was in the family 
lot in Highland Park cemetery.
