Lake Odessa – Mrs. Anna M. Bever, 94, 131 Harwood road, died Monday at Ionia 
Manor where she had been a patient for the past 3 ½ years.  She was born April 
30, 1886 in Sebewa township, the daughter of George and Angie Ingalls Thorpe.

She attended Sebewa schools and married Charles Courtnay December 25, 1907.  He 
preceded her in death July 27, 1947.

She married Guy Bever January 4, 1950 in Lake Odessa and he preceded her in 
death in May, 1966.

She had been employed as a practical nurse at Starr Commonwealth for boys in 
Albion and in private home nursing at Ypsilanti-Reed during World War II and at 
the Lake Odessa Canning Company for several years.

Survivors include her son Fred Courtnay of Hastings; two daughters-in-law Mrs. 
Ann Courtnay of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Dorothy Courtnay of Sunfield; seven 
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in 
Lake Odessa with Rev. John Morris officiating.  Burial is in Lakeside cemetery.
