She was a true Christian many years and leaves a large circle of friends and relatives who will miss her beautiful life. Obituary Susan Jane Vanhouten-Bever was born in Washtenaw county, Michigan, February 21, 1851, and died in her home in Woodbury, September 12, 1919, aged 67 years, 6 months and 21 days. When at the age of 19 years she was converted, joined the Baptist Church and continued a faithful member to her death. For nearly three years she has been afflicted in body but all through her affliction she has born trouble with Christian fortitude. She was a woman who will be missed by her many friends for she was loved by all who knew her; always having a smile for every one who met her. She attended quarterly meeting the Sabbath before her death and gave in her testimony for Christ and partook of the Sacrament. We are sure if we are faithful to the trust in Jesus we will all meet Sister Bever in heaven. She leaves to mourn their loss a noble husband, one sister, 7 brothers, 3 daughters, 4 step-sons and 5 step-daughters, 2 grandchildren, 23 step- grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives. The funeral was held from the Woodbury U.B. church, conducted by Rev. E.G. Lyon, assisted by Rev. I. Mourer, and was laid at rest in the Lakeside cemetery, September 15.
