Lake Odessa died Sunday morning at Pennock Hospital. She was born August 1, 1901 in Berlin township to Robert and Della (Shelman) Carter and was a life long resident of the Lake Odessa area. She attended the Algadon School and married George Bever, October 26, 1918 in Lake Odessa who preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Bever was a member of the Blue Star Mothers. Survivors include one son, Dean Bever of Lake Odessa; two daughters, Mrs. John (Kathryn) Tasker of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Royce (Lois) Hendrick of Saranac; two brothers, Willard Carter of Lake Odessa and Clarence Carter of Vermontville; one sister, Mrs. Calvin (Stella) Smith of Provincial House, Hastings; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. One son, Marshall, was killed during WWII in Germany in 1944. Funeral services were at the Picken-Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, Wednesday at 1:30 pm. Rev. James Hulett officiated.
