The Lake Odessa Wave, Friday, March 28, 1924
Freeman Bever living northwest of town was taken ill last Monday but not 
seriously, even going to the barn about chore time.  His son was with him 
until ten o’clock when he returned to his home and all retired.  About eleven 
o’clock Mr. Bever told his wife he could not breathe very well and got up, his 
wife ministered to him and seeing him so ill called the son.  But nothing 
could be done, the husband and father passed away at about midnight of heart 
trouble.  All the children arrived soon after.

Mr. Bever has lived on the farm purchased about forty years ago, all but five 
years when he lived in this village.  He had not been well for some time 
having had heart trouble and has been rather feeble.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Congregational 
church, of which he was a member.
