Helen I. Bever, age 91, of Lake Odessa passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015. 
Helen was born on March 7, 1924, to Chester and Clara (Leopard) Hesterly.  She
was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School, where she played on the first women’s
basketball team.  In 1947 Helen married her soul mate Dean Bever and he preceded
her in death.

Her family meant everything to her and she treasured spending time with them
especially the grand babies.  She enjoyed the Monday morning coffee group at
Meyers Bakery, playing Bingo at Emmerson Apartments, watching Detroit Tigers
baseball and Spartan Basketball.

Survivors include: daughters Linda Malloy, Judy Wells and Sue (Brian) Pinkston,
six grandchildren, 19 great children and one great-great grandchild, sisters
Beulah (Max) Bradley and Iris Zook along with many nieces and nephews.  

Those preceding Helen in death are: parents, husband, son-in-law Jeffery,
granddaughter Darcy, sisters Fern Nielsen and Bernice Clum.

Visitation for Helen will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 8
p.m. at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 10265 E. Brown Road, Lake Odessa,
MI  48849.  Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the
Lakewood United Methodist Church.  Interment will take place at Lakeside
Cemetery, Lake Odessa, MI. Donations in Helen’s name can be made to Lakewood
United Methodist Church, Trillium Woods Hospice Home or Donor’s Choice.
